The Looking Glass New Roads School is a collaborative effort between the agency, Eugene 4J School District, and the local business community. The school provides an alternative educational program to meet individual student needs. Our goal is to prepare youth for transition to another educational setting or employment, and to provide students with resources and skills to reconnect them to their community.

Services:

Education: Classes for credit include middle and high school basics of language arts, math, sciences and social studies. Students will also be offered GED preparation/tutoring.

Life Skills: Students will receive support with resumes, employment applications, forms, bills, and other real-life tasks.

Meals: Breakfast and lunch will be provided to students.

Additional Services: Students may access health care, counseling, case management and recreational opportunities, among other services.

Volunteer Program: Individuals within the community volunteer their time to assist students. A comprehensive training program prepares volunteers as classroom assistants.

Eligibility: Homeless and runaway youth, ages 11-21, without a high school diploma or GED, who are interested in educational services.

Location: The school is located at 945 W 7th Avenue in Eugene, across from the New Roads Drop-In Center. Call (541) 302-2551 or email us at New Roads School

Referrals: Referrals come from youth themselves, social service agencies, businesses, neighbors, and religious organizations. Referrals can be made by calling New Roads School, or youth may come directly to the school.

This program is funded in part by the USDA and the State of Oregon, which are equal opportunity providers and employers.
