Twenty-five local "personalities" acting as "pseudo waiters" dished up a wachy and fun-filled eventing for their costumed guests at the 5th annual Celebrity Waiter a la Carte fundraiser. The event was held at the Valley River Inn on April 2nd. This year's theme, “Somewhere in Time,” gave the waiters the opportunity to show their creative flair in coming up with table themes. Some chose a “play” on the word time resulting in themes of "Timeout," "Doing Time," and "Bed Time." Others stuck to historical themes such as "Knights of the Roundtable." "Pirates of the Caribbean," and "The 60s." Emcee Rick Dancer (KEZI News) recreated his role as chief instigator of the evening's "high jinks." Rick took great delight in "egging" the waiters on to new heights of craziness, ranging from eating nasty flavored jelly beans to walking the “plank.” More than $140,000 was raised — an all time high for the event. Proceeds will be used to provide 24-hour crisis intervention for kids and families, treatment for abused young women, and counseling services for teens with alcohol and drug addictions. THANK YOU to everyone who made this year's Celebrity Waiter à la Carte a smashing success!
