Many Looking Glass programs have opportunities for members of the community to volunteer on an ongoing basis in roles that supplement the program or administrative staff. This allows our Looking Glass staff to more fully concentrate on serving our clients and contributes to the success of our services.
Opportunities that are currently available can be found by clicking on the links below for a description of the activities involved and a person to contact if you are interested.
Host Homes - Open your heart; Open your home
Looking Glass Rural Program provides an array of services, for youth ages 11-17, who are in crisis, have run away, or are homeless. Services include:
Looking Glass Rural Program needs positive adult role models to provide temporary shelter (1-21 nights) in a Host Home setting, for youth in the Cottage Grove and Creswell areas. Host Home volunteers provide youth with a safe place to stay and transportation while helping to meet goals such as reuniting youth with their families or securing long term housing. Looking Glass provides daily basic needs for youth in the program. Training and support are provided. Host Homes are given complete training for certification; fingerprinting and criminal background check is required.
Hosts can be single adults, married people, grandparents, or anyone willing to provide shelter.
Make a difference. Become a Host Home. For more information, call (541) 767-3823 or email rural.program@lookingglass.us
