Summer Meals for Kids in Oregon
When school is out, healthy meals are still in! Through programs supported by the Oregon Department of Education (ODE) Child Nutrition Program, free summer meals are available to children in our community.
About ODE Child Nutrition Programs
The Oregon Department of Education Child Nutrition Program (ODE CNP) administers federal meal programs across the state and supports school districts in providing equitable access to nutritious meals for all children.
What Are Summer Meals?
Our residential schools participate in USDA-funded summer nutrition programs administered in Oregon by the ODE Child Nutrition Program (CNP):
Summer Food Service Program (SFSP)
Seamless Summer Option (SSO)
These programs ensure children continue to receive nutritious meals at no cost when school is not in session.
Who Can Receive Meals?
- All children 18 years and younger
- Meals are free of charge
- Open to all children in the community
- No registration required (site-specific guidelines may apply)
