The 2nd annual Looking Glass Socktoberfest sock donation (which ran the entire month of October) drive was another huge success thanks to amazing local business partners and their store customers as well as generous Amazon wish list buyers who shipped packages of new socks to our admin office. We received thousands of new and gently used socks for our New Roads homeless youth drop-in center!

Last year’s donation drive sustained our clothing closet throughout the year and we are once again sock rich! Socks remain a huge necessity for the unhoused and our clients truly appreciate a new, clean pair as they are often on their feet for much of each day and finding laundry services can be challenging as well. Our outreach team hands out socks as part of their daily interactions with homeless youth in the streets of downtown Eugene.

Thank you again to our sock drive partners: Bi-Mart, Macy’s, Windermere Real Estate, Mix 94.5FM as well as local companies who pulled together sock drive efforts within their employee ranks including Hybrid Real Estate, The UO Campus Planning & Facilities Management group and Camas Country Bakery in Junction City, among others.
