We are excited to have been awarded another four year accreditation from the New York-based Council on Accreditation (COA). This means Looking Glass has demonstrated to a third-party international organization that we have implemented the best practice standards in the field of human services. COA evaluates all aspects of Looking Glass programs, services, management, and administration.
“This is a significant achievement due to exhaustive, exemplary effort by our own staff, with support from our Board of Directors,” Looking Glass CEO Craig Opperman said. “Most importantly, it assures our donors, contractors and especially our clients that all of our services are proven to meet or exceed international standards of performance.”
Based on their findings, COA’s Accreditation Commission certified that we have successfully met the highest criteria for accreditation – resulting in a 4-year renewal!
COA accreditation is an objective, independent, and reliable validation of an agency’s performance. The COA accreditation process involves an independent, detailed review and analysis of an organization’s administration, management, and service delivery functions against international standards of best practice. The standards driving accreditation ensure that services are well-coordinated, culturally competent, evidence-based, outcomes-oriented, and provided by a skilled and supported workforce. COA accreditation demonstrates accountability in the management of resources, sets standardized best practice thresholds for service and administration, and increases organizational capacity and accountability by creating a framework for ongoing quality improvement.
It is because of our team leaders and front line staff's dedication to our core belief that our clients deserve the best possible care that we have been able to achieve this honor. The hard, daily work and follow through of our agency standards by our staff is what leads to the great outcomes we can achieve for the youth, families, and adults we serve in Lane County.
