New Roads Homeless Youth - In Need of Male-Identified Clothing Donations!

The male identified pants shelves at New Roads drop-in center is desperately bare and in need of re-stocking with donations

The inventory of t-shirts for men/boys at New Roads is quite low.

New Roads homeless youth drop-in center (off 7th and Blair Blvd) has a clothing closet for youth clients ages 16 to 21. At this time, the shelves containing clothing for male-identifying youth are quite bare. Looking Glass is seeking donations of clothing in a variety of sizes including pants, shirts, shorts, socks as well as shoes of various sizes.

If community members have items they could donate, now would be a great time to do so. Donations can be dropped off directly to New Roads (941 West 7th ave - parking lot is accessed via the alley between 7th and 6th avenue) between hours of 8AM and 8PM any day of the week. Or donors can drop off items at Looking Glass admin office Mon-Fri between 9AM and 4PM (1790 West 11th Ave, 2nd floor).

Socks are incredibly important for the unhoused, youth included. New Roads has very few socks at the moment.

Socks are also in very short supply - all homeless youth need clean socks! Looking Glass does hold an annual sock donation drive in October, but this year’s drive did not yield as many donations as in past years and New Roads staff have already run through those donations.

Donations of in-kind items can provide a tax deduction for donors. And, of course, these donations can make a huge difference in the lives of youth who are struggling.

Questions about donations can be directed to Tyler Mack, Director of Marketing & Development at tyler.mack@lookingglass.us.

Cash donations can also help and can be made on our website - https://lookingglass.us/donate

Thank you!
