The 16th annual Healthy Kids, Healthy Futures Looking Glass fall fundraising event (moved this year from a breakfast to a lunch) had record high attendance with roughly 160 supporters gathered at Venue 252 on Tuesday, October 20th to learn about the agency’s residential treatment programs, the two Regional Crisis Centers. This year’s event included a panel of RCC staff members engaged in a Q&A with event emcee (and Looking Glass Board Chair Elect) Mary Reilly.
Panelists discussed everything from what brings youth clients to the RCC, what a typical day looks like and also what success looks like for the youth they serve. A success story was also shared, via video, from one recent client who graduated to a lower level of care.
This year’s fundraiser was elevated thanks to a special match challenge donation from Chambers Construction of $10,000 which was successfully reached thanks to the enormous generosity of the attendees. Corporate sponsorship was also very high this year with title sponsor, Hearing Associates once again leading the way. Special thanks to all of our other event sponsors including:
Gold Tier Sponsors - Chambers Construction, Heritage Bank, OnPoint Credit Union, and PeaceHealth.
Fork and Knife Tier Sponsors - 2Form Architecture, Baker Tilly, and Claim 52 Brewing, Hamilton Construction, and Kernutt Stokes.
Former Looking Glass President and CEO, Craig Opperman, speaks to the event attendees.
Supporting Tier Sponsors - B/VAL, Dari Mart, Eugene Direct Mail Service Inc., Eugene Grocery Outlet, Summit Bank, and Washington Federal Bank.
Since this event also takes place in the month of October, many supporters also donated socks at the event, filling an entire donation bin with all kinds of high quality, new socks for our homeless youth program and our annual Socktoberfest sock drive.
Former Looking Glass President and CEO, Craig Opperman, appealed to the attendees to dig deep and support the agency with a passionate plea to help Looking Glass continue it’s life-saving work that is truly preventative in nature.
Lastly, thank you to all of our amazing table captains who rallied so many eager supporters this year!
