Bike for Hope Event Helps Raise over $2,500

All our riders ready for a great day!

All our riders ready for a great day!

On Saturday, June 1st a group of Looking Glass supporters joined with a few staff members for a great bike ride together. This fundraiser helped raise over $2,500 towards our $50,000 Haugland Match Challenge Campaign. Starting at Dorris Ranch, the group rode down to Clearwater Park, and finished at Plank Town Brewing in Springfield. It was a gorgeous day, with many riders getting out for the first time on the great Middle Fork path.

Aaron Hinkley, a program supervisor with our residential programs, spoke to participants about his experiences working with youth. He highlighted the impact that he and his team have had on young people in our community by reading a letter taped to his locker on a client’s last day. The moving letter spoke of how Aaron had done more to help raise the client than any of his family had, and that he would be leaving the program a better person.

At Plank Town, a hearty lunch was had, along with a great raffle. Prizes included a Pacific Pub Cycle certificate, Bike Friday gift basket, helmets from Bicycle Way of Life, a bike lock from Hutch’s/Oregon Bicycle Sports, and gift cards from Prime Time Sports Bar along with Claim 52.

Thank you again for all who supported this great event and hope you can join us all again in 2020!

A special thank you to our event sponsors!
