Holiday Giving Trees

With the holiday season upon us and Christmas trees appearing across the area, 15 generous hosts are turning their decorations into a tool of compassion.

For years, Looking Glass has run a Holiday Giving Tree program to provide holiday gifts for hundreds of our clients. Drawing from our Runaway & Homeless Youth programs, Alternative Schools, and Residential Treatment centers, staff collected the needs and wishes of our youth clients to create hundreds of ornaments.

These clients might have no or few adults in their lives who can give them gifts over the holidays. By purchasing items on these ornaments, you are helping improve the well-being of youth working to overcome the many challenges in their lives.

Our clients feel the compassion and care from our staff, but it makes a huge impact on them to know that there is someone out there in the community who has chosen to care about them enough to purchase them a gift.

To help increase this year’s Giving Tree impact, one of our donors, Ron and Marcy Sexton of Primary Residential Mortgage in Eugene, has offered a $500 cash donation match to encourage supporters of Looking Glass to purchase items on this year’s Giving Tree. They hope to inspire other Looking Glass supporters to donate funds to help with this gift drive.  We want ensure that ALL Looking Glass youth are able to receive the gifts and basic need items.  So, for all gift card or cash donations to this fund this season, Ron & Marcy will match them, up to $500. Thank you Ron & Marcy and Primary Residential Mortgage!

If you wish to contribute to our Giving Tree fund and help us reach this match, donate funds online here.

Using the map, find a tree location and pick up an ornament. Purchase all or some of the requested items on that ornament that will be given to the client requesting those items. Return your unwrapped gifts to any host location with the tag included. We will distribute gifts to our clients the week before Christmas, so please drop off the gifts on or before December 12th.

The Development team works to get our ornaments and signs ready for distribution. Find one of our snowman, gingerbread, orb, star, or stocking ornaments out in the community to give cheer to a Looking Glass client over the holidays.

Thank you to all the Giving Tree hosts this year, who make this program possible!
