On Thursday, June 11th, saw Riverfront School’s students graduating with their deserved high school diplomas and GEDs. The ceremony included support from Looking Glass faculty as well as musical performances by the University of Oregon’s Alumni pep band. Eugene City Councilor, Matt Keating, also provided the graduates with a well-received inspirational speech as the events keynote speaker.
One of the outstanding graduates, Lexi Adams (Bailey), spoke about the success and opportunities that themselves and the class received while at Riverfront. “My message to the class of 2026 is that life is about growth,” said Lexi, “Celebrate the growth you’ve experienced and continue to keep your growth a priority from here on out. Growth is a beautiful thing.”
Senator Manning attended the ceremony and showed his support by rewarding two students with $1,000 scholarships from Senator Manning’s Oregon Black Education Foundation. Looking Glass thanks Senator Manning for his valued dedication to our school’s youth.
Looking Glass staff, Willie Friedman and Michael Romano, also gave out a Community Partnership Award to Chad Hoffman for his support overseeing Lane County Waste Management’s Quamash Prairie Wetland Project. The project collaborates with Lane-Metro Youth Corps by offering conservation work experience and environmental education. Another Community Partnership Award was given to the nonprofit Square One and Gabriel Casteel for their collaboration with the Looking Glass Skilled Trades Program in building three tiny homes for unhoused individuals.
Thank you to Kelly Lyon Photography for taking these amazing photos and putting together a video of the event.
Looking Glass thanks everyone who attended and showed their support. Congratulations to the 2026 Riverfront School Graduates.
