Counseling Director, Carlyn Wierda shared the importance of the program and the funding they received. “Many of the families and individuals we work with at the Counseling Program have a lot of stressors in their lives, and many of them come from historically and systematically underserved communities.” “The ability to receive support in the form of individual, family, or group therapy, as well as substance use treatment, medication management, peer support, skillbuilding, and basic resources through our resource pantry, is essential for them to have their needs met, and for them to be able to thrive.” “This funding allows families and individuals to be able to receive these services, even if they don’t have insurance, or their insurance doesn’t cover all the services they need.”
PacificSource Executive Director, Marian Blankenship recognized the importance of the counseling program. “Looking Glass is a trusted community partner who supports and helps to launch, some of the most vulnerable young people in our community,” exclaimed Marian, “PacificSource Foundation is pleased to support this essential work.”
