For this year's Thank a Youth Worker Day (May 10th), we would like to recognize the great work that Perry Washington has done for youth in Lane County at Station 7. As Services Manager, Perry is a leader on the team and is responsible for helping with initial youth intake and orientation as well as helping them to return to stable housing after their stay at Station 7.

At Looking Glass Center Point School, utilizing the latest tech tools helps keep the students engaged and sparks their creativity. The recent acquisition of new Lego Mindstorms education tools was a bit intimidating to the staff at first, but with in-person training provided by a member of the Lego Academy (yes, that's a thing), the staff is feeling confident in its Lego building skills.

Program Spotlight: Riverfront Job Training Program

The Job Training Program, which operates out of the Looking Glass Riverfront School and Career Center, is a uniquely-designed program that prepares youth, ages 14-24, for success in the workforce in multiple ways. The Job Training Program has been in operation since the late 80's and is funded through the Lane Workforce Partnership.

SELCO Provides Funding to Furnish New Roads Apartments

SELCO Community Credit Union recently provided funds to Looking Glass Community Services with the specific purpose of furnishing 4 apartment units in a building owned by Looking Glass which houses the Looking Glass New Roads runaway and homeless youth day shelter. “SELCO has provided a great benefit to our community by this donation,” Looking Glass CEO Craig Opperman said.
