Bushnell University Community Day Helps Spruce Up Looking Glass TLP Apartments

Students from Bushnell University volunteered to assist several area nonprofits and included Looking Glass in that group once again this year. The project this year utilized track athletes from Bushnell to help clean up landscaping and spread new bark at a new apartment rental complex that Looking Glass uses for transitional living clients (formerly homeless youth).

Looking Glass Selected as Beneficiary at 2021 Market Fest - Volunteers Needed!

Looking Glass has been selected as this year’s exclusive nonprofit beneficiary for the 2021 Market Fest event held September 10-12 along the streets and shops nearby 5th Street Market.

“This is quite an honor,” explained Looking Glass Director of Marketing & Development, Tyler Mack. “To be selected among so many worthy nonprofits in the area is humbling. We look forward to the great exposure our organization will receive and the funding of course as well.”

Unity of the Valley began an outreach to Looking Glass Residential Services in November 2019. They provide a weekly celebration service based on the outline of Youth of Unity (Y.O.U.) meetings. Prayer shawls are provided to all participants and some of their family members. Since the end of June, Unity of the Valley has also provided an evening Zoom Prayer time when the teens are able to connect one-on-one with a chaplain.

Employees from Eugene’s Levi Strauss office spent several hours at two Looking Glass locations as part of their Community Day of volunteering around the Eugene/Springfield area. Levi’s staff members helped improve landscaping at Station 7 and re-painted the interior waiting room at our Counseling annex offices on West 11th.

Looking Glass Volunteers Honored by United Way

On Thursday, April 11th Looking Glass staff and supporters joined other thankful groups in acknowledging and celebrating the wonderful volunteer work being done at organizations around the county. Looking Glass was honored to have had two separate volunteers to celebrate with at the United Way Volunteer of the Year Celebration at Valley River Inn. New Roads instructor Steve Nastasiuk and two representatives from the Kappa Delta Alpha Lambda sorority were both nominated in their respective categories.

Thank you to Northwest Christian University for sending a great group of volunteers to help us build our ping pong tables for our upcoming Paddle Battle event (to be placed at various LG programs after the event). As part of Enhance the Community (ETC) Day NCU sends students, staff, and faculty to local nonprofits for an afternoon of volunteering.
